Grey Hair Colour FAQ

How do I dye my hair grey?

For grey hair it is best to start with pre-lightered blond at between levels 9-10 for maximum payoff, especially if you are going for a silvery look.  You also need to be sure which grey you need, as they come in purple-grey, slate grey, ash grey and even more!  Alien Grey from Manic Panic, Slate Grey from Lunar Tides and Charcoal from Lime Crime are our most popular grey shades, so they're a great way to start.

How long does grey hair last?

All of our dyes are semi-permanent, which reduces damage and conditions the hair but means the colour will not last forever.  It will fade slowly with time so to avoid any unnecessary fade wash your hair as infrequently as possible at as cold a temperature as you can stand; hot water removes colour quicker.  You can also use additional products, such as Crazy Colour's shampoo range and Fanola's After Colour shampoo and conditioner.

Can I get grey hair myself at home?

Absolutely!  We sell bleach kits like Flash Lightning 30 Vol. 40 Vol. and from Manic Panic which contains everything you need to lighten your hair including developer, gloves and a cap.  We also sell toning shampoos, conditioners and masks by Fanola, NAK and Crazy Colour to remove any yellow and orange tones.
